I n 1932, Harry W. Schroeder started the Schroeder Funeral Home, at the location between 6th & 7th Streets on the East side of Story Street in Boone.

The funeral business relocated at 503 Story Street at the corner of 5th & Story Streets in 1939. Now the Walter - Schroeder Funeral Home.
