David Lee Anderson

David Lee Anderson, age 65, of Boone, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2012 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 23, at the Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home located at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone. Pastor Don Howard will officiate.

Burial will be in the Mackey Cemetery located at 130th & V Avenue, Northeast of Boone, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, at the Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home located at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present at this time to greet friends. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:30 A.M.

David was born on June 27, 1946 in Boone, Iowa, the son of Clarence Gerhard and Jessie Mae (Harris) Anderson.

David attended Boone High School and one year at DMACC.

On May 3, 1969, David married Linda Sue Madden in Boone.

David worked with John Deere Company as a line painter for several years.

David was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 104 of Boone. He was an avid waterfowl and deer hunter and enjoyed fishing. David was a wood worker, and built his own furniture, including a gun cabinet using walnut and made cabinets out of oak. He enjoyed spending time with and helping his son, Jeremy, on the farm and playing cards with Jeremy and his brother, Stan.

David is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Steve; his former wife and lifelong friend, Linda Sue.

David is survived by his son, Jeremy J. Anderson and his wife, Rachel of Boone, Iowa; his brother, Stan Anderson and his wife, Linda of Boone, Iowa; his sister, Betty Krull and her husband, Bob of Boone, Iowa; his sister, Jean Pashia and her husband, Joe of Esbon, Kansas and also several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.

Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home located at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone is handling the arrangements.
